Pierro Dello Francesca

Francesca was born in the village of Borgo Santo Sepolcro in Tuscany. This painting done by him which is titled, The Baptism of Christ portrays Jesus been baptized by John, with a dove above his head. Christ, the dove and Johns hand form an axis which divides the painting in two symmetrical parts. Francesca was renowned in his times as a huge authority on perspective and geometry. It was completed in 1450
